The documents and research documentation created by the firms scientists and engineers is highly valuable and sensitive, and subject to tight regulatory oversight. Morphotek did not have a records management database or file tracking technology, and desired a database and technology for managing the location and retention of scientific records.

SmartTraxx records management software was customized to print file folder labels, track record locations with bar coding and to manage retention life cycles. Morphotek file room staff have minimal experience using computers, but easily mastered the use of SmartTraxx and its many features and its bar code tracking capabilities. They now better meet chain-of-custody, security and regulatory requirements for their sensitive records.
